Biography

Dr. Steven L. Havens, PhD

Dr. Steven L. Havens is currently a member of the piano faculty at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where he was named one of the outstanding faculty members in 2005. He has served on the piano faculty of the University of Iowa All-State Music Camp and has been affiliated with Wheaton College Conservatory of Music as well as the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan.

In addition to his teaching activities, Dr. Havens performs as solo pianist, collaborative pianist, and church musician. He has performed in a variety of ensemble settings including: piano four-hand duo, two piano duo, art song, flute and piano, violin and piano, cello and piano, trio, quartet among others. As an accompanist he has played for choral organizations, musical theater, opera, ballet, and modern dance. In addition to numerous Chicago-area venues, Dr. Havens has performed at Mount Saint Clair College, Quincy Conservatory, Luther College, and Coe College. He has also performed in Austria, Germany, France, Spain, England, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
